OSTEOPATHY

The fundamental principle of osteopathy is that the human body is a biological unit in which function and structure are inextricably linked. Impaired mobility (function) can cause structural damage or pain, and vice versa.

Through pure manual techniques, we can stimulate blood flow, improve movement or support compensation mechanisms and thus help to maintain or restore your health.

CUSTOM MADE

I look at your complaints from an integrative point of view, collecting as much information as possible in order to make an informed statement about the possible reasons why you have developed just that complaints.

Every patient is different, everyone is built differently and has a unique (medical) history. The problem zones and treatment goals therefore vary greatly from patient to patient, as well as the manual techniques and advice used.

STRONG TOGETHER

One symptom, one cure. It would be fantastic, but complaints are often multi-factorial, so it is sometimes necessary to work on different facets of the complaint.

After the posture and movement analyses, we will look at the results together and discuss the strategy to be followed. Besides the things I have to deal with as an osteopath, there are often things you can do yourself or for which you will possibly need extra help from a doctor, physiotherapist, health coach, dietitian and/or podiatrist.

01

  • HISTORY
  • An extensive interview in which all information about your complaint and your medical history is collected. If you have had previous tests, be sure to bring the results with you.

02

  • PROVOCATION TESTS
  • A number of manual examinations to find the pain provoking structure. Sometimes we find reasons to first send you to the doctor for medical imaging, blood analysis or other examinations.

03

  • POSTURE ANALYSIS
  • Via the DIERS bodyscan we do an objective and radiation-free measurement of the position of your back, the spine and the position of your pelvis. This measurement is supplemented and compared with the measurements we make using the 3D foot pressure plate.

04

  • MOVEMENT ANALYSIS
  • First of all we measure the mobility of the vertebral column, supplemented by testing the mobility of other joints, muscles,... Also stability tests, a gait analysis or other tests may be necessary here.
